Andover Franchising also develops franchising programs for companies with a proven record of success. Andover Franchising, Inc. is managed by Jim Deitz, its President and founder. His entire work history has been closely involved with entrepreneurship.

In 1981, Jim began his indoctrination into franchising when he joined a franchised business brokerage office selling small businesses and franchises. After a short time, Jim was named Regional Manager for the franchisor and traveled the Southeast training agents in 50 independently owned franchises. In 1987, he co-founded The Andover Group, a franchisor of business brokerage offices in Atlanta where he trained all the agents in the system until 1991.

In 1991, Jim's company narrowed its focus to offering franchise development services and selling franchises for a number of national companies. In 1996, Andover Franchising began a website call "The Franchise Doctor" which has helped thousands of potential franchise buyers around the world gain better insight into the advantages of franchising.

Jim is a member of the Board of Directors of the Southeast Franchise Forum, and speaks regularly at the University of Georgia, Georgia State, Kennesaw State University, Georgia Association of Business Brokers, and the International Business Brokers' Association.

Jim has been praised by his clients and peers for working tirelessly to ensure that buyers and sellers understand the benefits and risks of the franchise relationship and base their decisions accordingly. In 1999, he helped develop the FranchiseFit Entrepreneurial Survey to assist buyers in discovering their innate behavioral traits and learning how these predict success. Jim then helps prospect match their profile with different franchise offerings to ensure that they achieve their true potential--operating a business that they love. In 2000, he wrote the book "Insider's Secrets to Buying a Franchise" which is available in printed or electronic format on the company's website. In the late '60's, Mr. Deitz gained his knowledge of business and finance when he wrote credit reports on small and medium-sized companies for Dun & Bradstreet in New York City and Atlanta. Then for several years he was a bank administrator and loan officer issuing commercial, SBA and personal loans for a bank in Birmingham. During the latter part of the '70's, Jim owned several small businesses in advertising and marketing before selling them.
